Our Loss
I have never written in this blog about anything sad or even upsetting, but this needs to be said. Our sadness about Carl's recent and very unexpected passing needs to be shared. He was too young and too healty and we can't understand how he can be gone. Carl was totally in love with Kellan and the feeling was very mutual. I don't know what to say beyond that, but we just want it to be known that Carl's memory will always live on, and Kellan (and our new little one) will always know how much Daddy loved them.

Katie, I am so proud of you. It seems that just talking about Carl makes it seem so much more real. So many of us take our mortality as a right, and forget that it is a gift, ever so delicatly packaged. Our lives our not our own, rather they are shared with the people we come in contact with each passing day. Your two little ones will always have him watching over them. Reach out to those who care about you Katie, there really are so many of us! Let us help you get you through the hard parts, and laugh during the joyful times. I am here for you, please remember I love you, and care about you. Give Kellen hugs from me.

Katie - we are so sad to hear the news about Carl, though we never really knew him, it's easy to see what a wonderful father he was. God has given you two beautiful little ones to remind you of him every day. May you be comforted by God's grace in such a difficult time. Love, The Lehmans
