We are missing Carl every day, but grateful for the gift of these precious boys! Check often for new photos as we document their adventures.
Maybe this will help my success with Skype calls!!

I rarely open the shades in my bedroom, but it is a nice sunny day out so I thought "Why not?" What a nice feeling to let the sunshine in on a day when my spirits have been down. Well, Kellan looked "out" the window and said "SNOW!!" - there was no snow outside...on the ground or falling?! He ran to get Sean, pushed Sean to the window and said "SNOW!!" Sean said "no." Kellan said..."IN THE HOUSE!! IT'S SNOW!!" Dust my friends...DUST!! Then he said..."Let's try to catch it on our tongues!!" Oh my...Momma needs to clean this house!!

Gramma took this picture of Seanie. This is how he likes to watch Calliou...
A couple of cute comments tonight made me smile, so I wanted to post them.
1.) Every night I read with Kellan and tell him how brilliant he is when he reads to me (he really is a smart cookie!!!). Well, he was home from school today because of a sick tummy. Tonight, when we were reading he said, "Are you being nice to me because I'm sick?" I'M ALWAYS NICE...little stinker!! : )
2.) When I was putting Sean to bed tonight he said, "I like you." I said, "I like you too, Seanie." To which he replied..."Actually, I like Kellan." He did follow that with, "Actually, I like you." BUT...the damage was done : ) Little STINKER!!
Cute (SLEEPING) boys!
g'night

- that is a pinecone on the floor...not a mouse : )

What a busy weekend!!!
Kellan took this picture of Sean and I thought it was too cute not to post.

We made a tee-pee last weekend, but just took the pictures today.

Kellan LOVES his projects...a big thank you to (our) the Dunne Family for this one...it is a favorite!
Kellan lost his 2nd tooth this weekend!! This Momma didn't post a picture of the first one, so I thought I better do it this time. The tooth fairy left $2.00...quite a big deal for this little boy!
Do you notice a pattern? He sure does love his projects! We have started a tradition of buying a gingerbread house kit after Christmas (on clearance very cheaply) for the next year...Kellan did this ALL on his own and we found a great use for some of the (TONS) of Halloween candy the boys collected!

Thinking of you on your birthday Daddy!
These boys love each other so much, and are such a blessing! Most days, I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing as a mom. I want the very best for them as all parents do, but they challenge me (and my patience) constantly. This blog is not about me, but it is about our family. Days like today are a big/BIG reminder that 1/4 of our family is missing. I know that Carl is happy in Heaven, but those of us here still miss him.
Whenever we look at a photo or a favorite phrase of Carl's pops into my mind, I still cannot believe that he is gone. I love that these boys are growing to know about him more all the time. Today, Kellan asked if we could "make Daddy a cake - and eat it." Kellan's more casual questions and conversations are making it a bit more natural for me to talk freely and laugh with him about silly things his daddy said or did. It is never going to be easy, but I am starting to be able to enjoy the stories in these moments - and allow them to just be a sweet memory without the aching sense of loss.
We are so blessed with our family in Ireland, around the U.S. and right next door who keep this Momma sane (most of the time) with their support and love. I/We could not do this thing without you all. I am beyond blessed - even though I complain far to much. These little men are such a gift - and a legacy that Carl has left. There is a lot of energy and life in this house, and I know that makes him smile. There are many adventures ahead to be sure, but I am grateful for today...
Thinking of you on your birthday Carl/Daddy...xx
